With our daily hustling lives, we struggle to find our work-life balance. As we try to get that balance right, what we tend to forget is our dressing style. A struggle that most of us don’t bother to care about!

But as they say, dressing well is a form of good manners.

While it’s comparatively easier to put together an outfit for men, we often tend to only stick to basics. A colour I find the most underrated in menswear fashion is Maroon.

Maroons are subtle and if paired right can help you stand out whether you’re at work or at dinner with your buddies. I styled this maroon shirt from Celio with beige pants and absolutely loved the look.

What I realised while styling this shirt is the enormous versatility it has. This shirt can be styled with casual chinos or denims as well, according to the occasion. Put on a blazer for a formal night for just fold ’em sleeves and keep it casual. You can also pair it up with glasses like I did to complete the formal look.

Another way to shift away from basics is to try out prints. If you don’t want to go all out with fashion experimenting, you can choose subtle self prints as on this shirt. But if you don’t mind being bold, go for louder prints or bigger patterns in a maroon tone. Prints can accentuate a basic look and make a striking impression.

If you have more ways of styling maroons or have a go-to outfit which can easily shift moods, let me know in the comments below! I would love to see your style and probably incorporate them as well. 🙂
